I had run into Jean Marie in the last year while she was visiting her mother, Mrs. Curry, at the Lake Morton Plaza in Lakeland. Mrs. Curry was the principal of Lime Street Elementary for many years. I knew that Jean Marie lived in Michigan, but I had no idea of her illness.
Jean Marie Curry Moran, daughter of Genevieve Curry and the late William Lamar Curry, Sr. of Lakeland passed away due to ovarian cancer on Monday, March 10, 2014 with the family by her side at Good Shepard Hospice. She was born August 3, 1945 in Ottawa, IL but grew up in Lakeland, FL and graduated from Lakeland High School in 1963.
A graduate of Furman University, she married the love of her life, Mike Moran, at The Citadel chapel in 1967. In 1979, she settled in Farmington, MI with her family and has divided her time since 2011 between Michigan and Lakeland.
