Larry, Bob Renfranz and a number of LHS’s finest started their college careers at St Petersburg Jr College in the Fall of 1963.  It was a fun time of learning and living on our own for the first time.  Larry & Bob rented a back bedroom from Mrs. Griffith, our in-house elderly landlady.  I rented Mrs. Griffith son’s bedroom as he was away in the military.  We lived about 5 or 6 blocks west of the college.

We were allowed kitchen privileges but after a year’s worth of putting up with the three of us she decided she would only rent to females.  I never understood why…?

One afternoon Larry got into a scrap with a local high school neighbor for some long forgotten reason and they ended up rolling around in Mrs. Griffith’s flower bed.  When asked what happened to her flowers we all professed to know nothing.

Otherwise, we all did a reasonably good job of studying and keeping our noses clean.  No drinking, partying or carrying on in Mrs. Griffith’s house!

Larry died at the hands of his son during a family dispute in June 1995 along with two neighbors.  Larry's wife was wounded but survived.
