Robert served in the US Navy for 23 years, He retired and moved back to Lakleand to serve his county as a Paramedic for 20 years. He died of a stroke in 2003 in the back of his own ambulance.
We were married Jan. 5, 1965, and have 3 sons and 9 grandchildren.
I was not in your circle during our days at LHS but as a veteran wanted to thank you and Robert for your extended service to the Navy and country. I have a favorite quote that I would like to share with you that sums up what I have felt about my time in uniform.
“One more dance along the razor's edge finished. Almost dead yesterday, maybe dead tomorrow, but alive, gloriously alive, today.”

Mrs. Gilmore,
I was not in your circle during our days at LHS but as a veteran wanted to thank you and Robert for your extended service to the Navy and country. I have a favorite quote that I would like to share with you that sums up what I have felt about my time in uniform.
“One more dance along the razor's edge finished. Almost dead yesterday, maybe dead tomorrow, but alive, gloriously alive, today.”
