Equilla (Quill) Hicks (Holdridge)

Ann and I grew up in Medulla and were great friends.  We were always in and out of each other's homes for one reason or another.  She was more out going of the two of us.  She had a bubbly personality and that seemed to over shadow the rest of us in our group.  The other girls in the group was Pauline Gandy and Nancy Foxworth.  She was always the first to try new styles of clothes or a new hair style.  She became a hair designer and moved to L.A. and had a very successful business for over 20 years.  She had to give up her business and move back home because of cancer.  She recovered from that and went to barber school so she could work in a barber shop.  The last time we were together was at our 40th year class reunion.  She was still dancing and I will always remember how she liked to dance.
