Joseph Harvey Hickey passed away on June 5, 2021, due to natural causes. He was born on December 4, 1945, in Lakeland, Florida.
He was retired from Publix Supermarkets. He is survived by his children: John Hickey, Maryann Borchers, and granddaughter Emma Wnuk.
A funeral service will be held on June 15, 2021 at 10:00am at Heath Funeral Chapel

I met Joe at Lakeland Highschool in the early 60's, we both graduated from there in 1963. Next was Polk Junior College. I saw Joe at my first Sebring Race in 1965, and every Sebring Race I went to after that, which were many. We had a great friendship over the years. I will miss seeing him, especially with his Sebring Worm Hat on. Yes, he was a great guy and friend. He will be missed

Not sure when or where I first met Joe but probably through Bill Russell sometime after LHS. Always found that time spent with Joe was enjoyable but those times, over the years, were too few and too far between. Joe could always make you laugh and put a smile on your face. The laughter often became so hard that one's side hurt the next day. A fine person and a nice guy that will be remembered to the end of our days...
