Thomas Winikus

Thomas Francis Winikus, 78, passed away on April 27, 2024, at Lakeland Regional Hospital. He was the loving and proud husband of Wanda Winikus. They shared 46 happy years of marriage together.

Born in Lakeland, Florida, he was the son of Thomas and June Winikus. Thomas graduated from Lakeland High School in 1963, St. Petersburg Junior College in 1966, and proudly attended the University of Florida. He held many professions due to his multiple talents, but his favorite was when he was the head professional golfer at Lone Palm Golf Course.

Thomas was a proud member of the Rotary Club and was a Sergeant in the U.S. Army until he was honorably discharged in 1972. He enjoyed Florida Gators football in the fall, farming, and always being there to take care of his family. He will be fondly remembered for his kindness, his dedication, his love, and being the most incredible father and husband, anyone could ask for.

He is survived by his wife, Wanda Winikus, his two children, Thomas Winikus and William Winikus, and his beloved farm, Alisa Farms, filled with cats, dogs, horses, and cattle. He was predeceased by his parents, Thomas Winikus and June Winikus.

He will be fondly and lovingly remembered always.
