Allan was a good friend through junior high and highschool.  He had an incredible talent with anything mechanical or electrical and was always willing to lend a repairing hand to my Cushman Eagle and later my Zundapp.  Allan was an enigmatic, rare person. I overheard the Principal at Southwest Junior High comment that Allan would “end up famous or in jail.”  He had that kind of persona.  You never knew for sure with him what was true and what was fiction, where he had been or where he was going.  The one certain thing about Allan -- the road he traveled ended way too soon.

I always thought it was exciting to be around Allan because:

A)  He was a genius;

B)  You never knew what he might do next.
