Gary had a younger brother named Mark, who greatly physically resembled Gary.  Both seemed very nice guys.

Question:  Was Carter Lord's father the other half of Wellman Lord Engineering?  Me not know....... cause I was not a "SW punk", as we used to say over at 400 N. Fla Avenue.  By one city block I was a "Green Hornet".  Wasn't fun, but being a Green Hornet damn sure toughened me up for the rest of what life dealt - also taught me how to get along/survive with all types - sane and insane.

Yes, those are the days to remember.. Green hornet, coacj Teach, coach huddle, Kritermyer, Drinking down at six pound pool, South west school football, track, Gary was a great guy, his younger brother Mark also great people, that was when our bodies were extra strong and our minds. were thinking with our hormones.Gary and a couple of us would go out to drane field and take the booze off his father's plane.. then off to the phosphate pits.. so so long ago, almost forgotton, looked forward to your friends at school, girl-friends, teachers, kids dont get to do that now.. they all have computers skills, little or no common sense, head down, little communication, we had polk theatre, elvis presley, yo-yo contest on stage , saturdays, Beck Bright and I got to see him, there, Gary and a bunch of us all enjoyed life, His Father Donated money for a cancer center at the Hospital, in lakelaand, well enough for now,, but YES Gary, Mark And all of us were the Best damn teen=age boys/girls a generation will ever have.. THOSE WERE THE GOOD_OLD_DAYS

Gary and Mark were real gentlemen because of their father Jim Wellman.  I caddied for Jim all through high school and he was THE nicest golfer I ever caddied for.  Jim lost his battle to colon cancer at the age of 42.  Ironically, Jim never drank or smoked.

Yes, Michael Durhan, Carter's dad was the Lord part of Wellman-Lord :) I think I had plane geometry with Gary and, as you all have said, he was such a nice guy.

Life  offers all of us opportunitys. some are wasted on fun stuff, but like most. its fun and irresponsibity can be devastating.. If we survive these hurdels in life we can make a difference for ourselves and others, I believe Mark went on to become a Catholic Minster??That was a long way from Lake Morton grammer school, where life was simple and pleasant,Mr. Wellman battled cancer, and as gary, He Donated his Love & Money to help those in need, I myself have been thru that center and Hope that I'm  still in re-mission? Whatever we did as young people, we still tried our best to show respect to others..Dog-n-Suds, Friday's nights, Gathering place, ole Tom Rogers and i work there while others were enjoying the fruits of life,, we were washing dishes, cooking etc.. Gary Wellman was ONE- of the Best...

Mark is doing well in Lakeland. He has a son named Jim. Gary and I were friends in high school and we corresponded when he went to Greenbriar Millitary school. We had lunch just a year or so before he died and he was very happy with his young family. We looked forward to more lunches but it was not meant to be.
