Joe was born in Birmingham, Alabama. He was a graduate of Florida State University. He retired in 2008 as Records Manager of Manatee County Clerk of the Circuit Court. In addition to his wife of 37 years Nancy Lancaster, Joe is survived by son Jay Lancaster (Christie) of Archer, Florida, daughter Beth Provett (Chris) of Williston, Florida and six grandchildren.

A Memorial Visitation will be held on Saturday, October 26, 2024 from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM followed by a Memorial Service at 3:00 PM at the Chapel of First Baptist Bradenton, located at 1306 Manatee Ave West, Bradenton, FL 34205. The burial will be private.

Memorial Donations in honor of Joe may be made to either Bradenton Tidewell Hospice or Guadian Angels.
